Experience the benefits of regular meditation

It is scientifically proven that meditation has a positive impact on physical and mental health. This course gives you the tools to install a regular practice of meditation.
Topics covered:
- Benefits of meditation
- Techniques to focus and calm the mind: breath, visualisations, mantras
- How to sit for meditation
- Best time and place for the practice of meditation
- Breath and concentration
- Creating the proper environment for meditation
- Mediation exercises: tratak (meditation on a candle flame), practice of japa (mantra repetition)
- Kirtan workshop: spiritual chants to open the heart
Recommended reading: “The Sivananda Book of Meditation”, Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre.
Daily schedule:
- 6am: Satsang (group meditation, kirtan and mantra chanting, short lecture)
- 8am: Yoga class
- 10am: Brunch (lacto vegetarian / sattvic diet)
- 10:45am: One-hour karma yoga (selfless service)
- Between noon and 3pm: One-hour lecture or asana workshop or silent walk
- 4pm: Yoga class
- 6pm: Dinner (lacto vegetarian / sattvic diet)
- 6:45pm: One-hour karma yoga (if not done in the morning)
- 8pm: Satsang (group meditation, kirtan and mantra chanting, short lecture)
This daily schedule can be subject to occasional changes.
Arrival/Departure:
- Check-in: 2pm-8pm, on first day. First event is 4pm yoga class on arrival day
- Check-out: by 11am, on last day. Last event is the one-hour afternoon lecture on departure day
