This form of yoga combines dynamic Hatha Yoga postures that specifically stimulate certain glands (ovaries, thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal glands) with breathing exercises. These techniques help women stimulate the production of female hormones and feel fulfilled at any age.

CAUTION:

  • Due to its effects, hormonal yoga is contraindicated in the following cases: pregnancy / any disease in which an increase in estrogen levels is contraindicated (particularly breast or ovarian cancer—if in doubt, consult your doctor) / advanced endometriosis / large uterine fibroids / acute abdominal inflammation / advanced osteoporosis / heart problems / recent surgery.
  • Yoga for balancing hormones is not a medical treatment, it is simply a form of yoga.

Topics covered:

    • Yoga sequence for balancing hormones

This sequence was developed by Dinah Rodrigues 35 years ago. It combines dynamic hatha yoga postures which specifically stimulate certain glands (ovaries, thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands) and a practice of pranayama (kapalabhati). This exercise awakens and stimulates the energy contained in the pelvis, the reservoir of our vital force.

    • Visualisation and deep relaxation

Another technique used is deep relaxation. During the postures, we use visualisations to send energy or an intention to the endocrine glands. These visualisations are also used during periods of relaxation to create new imprints and reprogram old patterns.

    • Anti-stress exercices

The sequence ends with anti-stress exercices to harmonise the hormonal production.
